An exciting opportunity has risen to join our IT Project Delivery team as an IT Portfolio Manager here at Covea Insurance. The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and from our Halifax office. What will I be doing? Leading the IT Portfolio function by working with stakeholders across the business to ensure that the portfolio of projects is clearly aligned to company strategy Managing a team of delivery and project managers within IT delivery, and managing the introduction and exit of projects from the IT portfolio Ensuring all projects in the portfolio are adequately budgeted and resourced Owning the delivery framework whilst taking responsibility for the implementation and operation of the project and IT portfolio governance process in line with delivery framework Reporting on key metrics across the IT portfolio to give a clear picture of progress, quality, financials, risks and issues Driving best practice and providing support and coaching to managers delivering projects across Covea Undertaking regular reviews of all IT service and technology projects to provide delivery assurance, ensuring they are well managed and will deliver the expected outcomes Managing conflicts within the IT portfolio including costs, resources, constraints and dependencies Ensuring internal and external stakeholders are kept up to date on the success & progress of the Portfolio You should apply if you have… Experience in IT project and programme management, including experience of running a project portfolio An ability to ‘make things happen’ leading a well organised and empowered team with a positive attitude Demonstrable experience of industry standard portfolio and programme office processes, including evidence of creating strong reporting Evidence of building high-performing teams with a culture of collaboration Experience of running IT project/programme governance processes Excellent interpersonal, written communication, persuasive and presentation skills with an ability to communicate detail in an accessible and engaging manner We understand that some candidates may be hesitant to apply for a position if they do not meet all the criteria listed in the job description.
