Leaving Care Support Worker
FULL AND PART TIME OPPORTUNITIES
We are leading providers of support staff that we provide to companies in the area to cover adhoc and temporary shifts.
We are currently recruiting for temps that have some free time to complete shifts with young people aged 16-18 currently in residential and semi-independent homes around Morecambe.
The shifts are typically 24-hour sleepovers, starting at 9am and finishing at 9am the following day. Are you an experienced leaving care or children’s support worker and can do 1 or more shifts a week?

Rates from £14.50 an hour and £65 sleeps.
Essential Criteria:
1. Preferably you will have experience supporting young people in a residential setting.
2. Full UK Driving License is essential with Business Insurance.
3. We have FULL AND PART TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area and they are currently recruiting for a Support Worker on a permanent basis.
Even though permanent, a quick start is possible if you have a current online DBS; we can start you on a temp to perm.
This is supporting children in a residential unit.
It is essential that you have experience of working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. High standard of general education.
2. Preferable: NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
3. Willingness to undertake further training.
Job Purpose:
To be responsible for the provision of Support for Vulnerable People (Service Users) for the Company.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To assist the Young person’s allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service.
2. Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
3. Conduct welcome and induction for Young people.
4. Ongoing assessments of Service Users’ needs.
5. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of Service Users.
6. Assist in welfare and NHS issues.
7. Preparation of reports.
8. Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
9. Maintaining regular contact with Service Users.
10. Informing Service Users of support groups.
11. Assist Move-On of Service Users.
12. To accurately record, create, maintain and update electronic records in respect of our Service Users.
13. To prepare for and attend meetings as required or directed.
14. To provide mediation to Service Users as required and/or directed.
15. To effectively use IT packages to support the work of the company.
16. To work effectively and cooperatively across multi-disciplinary teams.
17. To observe and maintain strict confidentiality in respect of the Service Users, Clients and Company.
18. To pro-actively assist in the development of policies and procedures of the Company.
19. To report any housing issues to the Services Department and to assist, where required, in the resolution of any defects.
20. To undertake On-Call duties as directed.
21. To participate, where required, in office reception duties.
22. Prepared to work with service users on a 1/1 basis or supporting groups of 3 young people 24/7 where sleep-in shifts are required.
23. Able to show flexibility to cover all offices across the company as and when required.
