Role Overview
The Footwear Colour & Materials Designer will play a crucial role in developing and executing colour and material concepts for our footwear collections. You will work closely with our product design and development teams to ensure that our designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also align with our brand ethos and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and design innovative colour palettes and material combinations for our footwear collections.
* Collaborate with the design team to ensure colour and material choices align with the brand’s aesthetic and seasonal trends.
* Research and curate beautiful material combinations.
* Create detailed factory tech packs, strike off trim developments and new colour lab dips.
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in footwear materials.
* Present design concepts and prototypes to the team for feedback and approval.
* Work closely with manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of designs.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with most of the following:
* Proven experience with a minimum of 5+ years as a Footwear Colour and Materials Designer, preferably in the fashion industry.
* Strong understanding of colour theory, material properties, and sustainability practices.
* Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop essential.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
* A love for fashion and a strong grasp of contemporary trends.
* Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
* Experience working with sustainable materials and practices.
* Previous experience in a freelance or remote work environment.
