What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Design and Technology Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching in Engineering Design, Construction, and our T-Level offer of Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons, practical projects, and industry-relevant learning, ensuring that our students develop the technical skills, knowledge, and understanding required for successful progression future ventures.
The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to develop and deliver lessons that engage and challenge learners; utilising the industry-standard tools and resources that we have within the department, and supporting the development of students that will contribute towards industries associated with this subject. The dynamic practitioner will be expected to use innovative approaches to engage and ensure progression within lessons, using their industry experience, knowledge and links, as well as continuing to build and develop the with our industry partners.

We offer a plethora of CPD opportunities and activities to hone skills but also allow staff to share their good practice in what is a welcoming and positive team. As a department we firmly believe that our students will thrive under the correct conditions and we are taking huge steps in ensuring that this is the case, our classroom restructure, extracurricular opportunities and project approaches to name some. We take great pride in the work that we do, promoting the subject through a robust Key Stage 3 curriculum that has allowed us to offer qualifications in GCSE DT, Engineering Design and Construction at KS4, with increasing uptake each year. Our Key Stage 5 offer of the T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction is another milestone in allowing our department to have the biggest impact it can on our students and their opportunities beyond the school gates.
