Where you’ll work:
At OVO, we understand that a one size fits all approach doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why we created the OVO Way of Flexibility.
All our roles are hub based (Bristol, Glasgow or London), providing a dedicated space for collaboration, connection and teamwork. You’ll also have the flexibility to work from home.
This role in a nutshell:
Pay as you go Energy, or PAYGO is a key part of the OVO Energy business. Simply put, it’s the way that many of our customers choose to pay for their Energy, in advance by ‘topping up’ their meter. The PAYGO Value Stream team operates across our enterprise to develop this 750,000 customer, £1.4bn turnover business.
You’ll be part of a PAYGO Journey team that exists to optimise outcomes for the customer and our business. You’ll provide insight to support decisions and high value business cases developed by our Journey team.
Your key outcomes will be:
* Provide first class insight and concise data to understand and size opportunities to simplify, improve value and increase customer protections.
* Provide data led evidence to support changes to reduce effort and failure demand and hence cost to operate.
* Influence the wider data community across OVO to ensure that the correct data, structure and governance is in place to support PAYGO requirements.
* In conjunction with wider reporting functions, lead development of key reporting, likely handing this into BAU production teams.
* Deliver collaborative solutions where data gaps or uncertainty is present.
* Ensure that key data and insight dependencies have contingency, by working across your own data colleagues and more broadly.
* Where required, work with the suppliers and partners to support PAYGO, to ensure that critical and useful data is consumable.
Within your first 3 months you’ll:
* Get to know the data and systems relating to our PAYGO journeys well, understand the opportunities.
* Work out the baseline measures, where are we starting from.
* Deliver some quick wins to demonstrate progress.
* Systems and data: You will get to know the data landscape across OVO and third parties that we utilise, in order to design and provide key insights.
You’ll be a successful PayGo Journey Analyst here at OVO if you…
* Ideally have 3yrs plus experience of providing insight and data across Energy supplier processes, or a relatable and transferable market that has complex end to processes.
* Have strong experience in dealing with data using BigQuery and preferably experience with other programming languages, such as using Python or R to interrogate large data sets and identify actionable insights.
* You can demonstrate how you’ve influenced business improvements using data and insight.
* You are able to demonstrate the ability to provide clarity in a complex and changing environment.
* Consistently demonstrate a strategic understanding of the area and wider business.
* The ability to see the bigger picture and understand how a wide range of analytical outputs link together.
* Adaptable to change with experience working in a fast-paced, ambitious, customer-focused environment.
* Work with journey managers and wider insight functions to create, monitor and understand all relevant stats associated with process success across OVO and its third-party partners.
* Are inquisitive and happy to both deep dive into a subject, but can also see the big picture opportunities.
* Love to collaborate and influence across multiple functions and stakeholders.
* Get excited at taking something from not great, to great over a 2 to 3 year period.
