About the role
We are seeking a talented Actuarial Consultant to join our dynamic Reserving team. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of quarterly Reserving updates, ensuring accurate and timely insights that support key business decisions. Working closely with stakeholders across claims, pricing, and risk teams, you will play a vital role in analysing data, providing recommendations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead specific projects, mentor and coach junior team members, and drive the execution of business-as-usual (BAU) activities. You will also have the chance to work on cross-functional initiatives, contributing to the improvement of processes and the delivery of innovative solutions that enhance our actuarial practices.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.
About you
You’ll either be a newly or part-qualified actuary with a strong background in General Insurance (GI) Reserving bringing extensive knowledge and experience. You’ll bring a solid understanding of actuarial principles and the ability to apply them in practical scenarios. Proficiency in reserving software ResQ and tools like SQL, Excel, and Power BI are essential for success in this role.
In addition to your technical skills, you’ll possess strong stakeholder management abilities and a collaborative mindset. You are confident in mentoring and supporting junior colleagues, demonstrating leadership potential and a willingness to develop these skills further. Your proactive approach, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities make you a valuable contributor to the team.

To join our team, you’ll also have:
* At least 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade B or above (including mathematics).
* An honours degree (2:1 or above) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or another degree with significant mathematical content.
* Strong analytical skills including the ability to solve complex business problems using analytical and statistical methods.
* In-depth knowledge of current industry developments and regulatory framework.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of actuarial techniques.
* Proven track record of demonstrating actuarial judgement based on a pragmatic assessment of business needs.
