Job Description Job Title: Business Development Executive (Full-time permanent) 36.25hrs, Salary Circa - £50k Location: Newry Credit Union Reports to: CEO Job Summary: The Business Development Executive will play a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, enhancing our range of financial services, and leading new mortgage sales. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, sales, and relationship management, with a passion for credit union principles and values. Key Responsibilities: Market Analysis and Strategy: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, competitive threats, and emerging trends. Develop and implement strategic plans to capitalise on identified opportunities. Mortgage Sales Leadership: Lead and manage the mortgage sales team, overseeing the entire mortgage origination process from lead generation to closing. Develop mortgage sales strategies to increase loan volume while ensuring responsible lending practices. Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop new financial products and services that meet the evolving needs of our members. Partnership Development: Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to expand our member base and enhance our service offerings. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing members, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure excellent customer service and member satisfaction. Sales and Promotion: Develop and execute sales and promotional initiatives to increase business lending, mortgage sales, loan volume, savings, and other credit union products and services. Compliance and Risk Management: Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure that all activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Mitigate risks associated with business development activities. Financial Analysis: Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of various products and services, making data-driven decisions to optimize profitability and member value. Team Collaboration: Work closely with credit union staff to align business development efforts with the credit union's mission, goals, and values October 2024 Person Specification Applicants must demonstrate on their CV how they meet each element of the essential criteria. Essential Criteria BA (Hons) in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field or other equivalent qualification. 3 years experience in business development, sales, or in a related role, preferably in the financial industry. Proficient in the use of MS Office packages Valid UK/EU driving license Additional skills and experience Ability to demonstrate effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to think strategically, develop and execute business plans. Demonstrable proficiency in financial analysis and data-driven decision-making. Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements. Experience in mortgage sales leadership or a strong understanding of mortgage origination processes.
