Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse will perform tasks prescribed and delegated by the GP Partners, working unsupervised to PGDs, agreed protocols and within defined competencies.
The Practice Nurse will assess patients and plan, implement and review treatment programs. The Practice Nurse will have shared responsibility for training and supervision of new members of the nursing team and colleagues.

Job responsibilities
We are a training practice, use the EMIS Clinical system and have a strong emphasis on proactive teamwork.
The successful candidate will work as part of the clinical team and be responsible for consulting with patients in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs.
Treatment room skills, to include:
1. ECGs
2. Removal of sutures/clips
3. Wound care/dressings
4. Contraception
5. Cervical cytology
6. Child and adult injections
Practice Nurse with specialism in Respiratory - Asthma/COPD:
To review patients with asthma/COPD.
Encouraging them to manage their condition as independently as much as possible.
Keep up to date with current guidelines and attend training updates as agreed with the practice.
Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years' experience of working with healthcare professionals and or previous experience in the NHS
* Previously worked in a GP Surgery
Qualifications
* Must have full Nurse Registration
* Specialism in Respiratory - Asthma/COPD
* Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* Educated to degree level in Nursing
* Experience in General Practice is preferred
