Sr Process Engineer, Emerging Countries, AMZL EC Engineering - LATAM/MENA

The Amazon Logistics Engineering team is seeking an experienced, innovative, hands-on and customer-obsessed Senior Process Engineer to drive standardization and innovation in physical infrastructure, layout and material flow across our Last Mile delivery network. As a member of the Process Engineering arm of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for producing and refining process standards, building on current best practices for physical infrastructure and designing Amazon Logistics equipment that is used across the emerging markets network and beyond. Infrastructure you develop will always be produced to meet safety, customer experience, capacity, quality and cost goals. You will act as a key point of contact for the Process Engineering team, frequently partnering with leaders in the field, as well as other operational support functions and your WW counterparts. The core process infrastructure ownership element of this role spans Delivery Station and On-the-Road operations.
This position requires strong leadership, deep customer focus, strong autonomy and exceptional project management skills. It will involve regular communication with executors and project sponsors at both the country and WW level, and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable partnering across functional business and technical teams. To be successful in this role, you need to pair strong analytical skills and a data-driven outlook with strong intuition.
This role will be based out of London and involves travel to Latin America, Middle East and North of Africa.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead the design and development of new processes, equipment, process-flows, infrastructure across all process paths with AMZL.
2. Optimize existing processes/equipment and drive expansion of new processes/equipment from concept to deployment.
3. Own and drive programs that improve capacity, productivity, safety and Ergonomics within Delivery Stations.
4. Author and chair reports/business case reviews to document project status and changes with senior leadership.
5. Track metrics to identify areas of improvement across all process paths.
6. Communicate expansion status/project outputs to senior leaders periodically.
7. Create strategy for long term roadmap.
A day in the life
Your day could include engagement with all levels of the organization and multiple stakeholder groups to drive short, mid and long term decisions that have large scale impact across the AMZL network. You would also be working with partners from Operations, Process Improvement, Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Finance, Procurement and external vendors to design & develop new equipment and processes for the multiple process paths in AMZL Delivery Stations. You will put in place mechanisms to track project success, measure KPIs and build reports to provide visibility to senior leaders across the organization. Finally, you will have fun doing everything listed above.
About the team
The emerging countries Amazon Logistic Engineering team works across multiple regions (LATAM/MENA/APAC) and delivers best in class processing equipment and infrastructures to drive the success of our last mile operations.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
2. Experience in a similar process development role, ideally in fast-paced industrial, logistics or production/manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in building and innovating processes and/or processing equipment in a relevant field.
4. Proven Project Management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1. MBA, MSc or MEng (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent).
2. Advanced data analysis skills, Knowledge & ability to use standard design and development tools e.g. AutoCAD, MS Visio, SQL.
3. Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with business partners and key stakeholders and the ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organization.
4. High level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
5. Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic.
