We are currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician at the Bristol Royal Infirmary on either a Band 4 or Band 5 contract depending on accreditation/qualification.

Main duties of the job
* Provide safe and efficient pharmacy support to the dispensary and wards within UHBW.
* Develop professional, technical, and clinical skills through continuing professional development.
* Dispense and check medicines within the dispensary and complete medicines reconciliation.
* Dispense medicines and prepare pharmaceutical products, helping to meet discharge times & taking queries from ward staff.
* Provide pharmaceutical support to the dispensary and the wards within the trust.
* Be involved in the running and organization of the workflow and participate in the training/mentorship of new staff.
* Progress through nationally recognized accreditations in Accuracy Checking and Medicines Optimization.

Qualifications and Training
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Accredited Medicines Management Technician (Essential within 12 months of appointment. Required for progression to band 5)
* Accredited for Assessing or Coaching
* Accredited Checking Technician (Essential within 12 months of appointment. Required for progression to band 5)
Skills and Abilities
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Flexible and adaptive approach
* Good interpersonal skills
* Good time management
* Ability to work alone or in a team
* Evidence of ability to complete work on time
* Skilled at using the internet and online information systems

Knowledge and experience
* Proven ability to dispense medicines accurately without errors
* Previous experience of supporting the training and teaching of others

* Proven recent hospital experience of delivering dispensing service as a technician
