Job summary Secondment opportunity to work within the Safeguarding team at UHNM as the named nurse for safeguarding children and young people. The post is 32hours per week, working Monday-Thursday. Contribute to the development of internal safeguarding policies, guidelines, and protocols Effectively communicate local safeguarding knowledge, research and findings from audits and challenge poor practice. Facilitate and contribute to own organisation audits, multi agency audits and statutory inspections Organise, plan and deliver Safeguarding training to staff across UHNM Undertake/ contribute to serious case/ case management reviews, including the development and implementation of action plans Effectively work with colleagues across the trust and from other organisations, including the Police, the Local Authority, the Local Safeguarding Children's Boards (LSCB) and other LSCB partners Work with the Safeguarding team to identify and support safeguarding supervision and reflective practice for staff across the Trust Participate in LSCB sub-groups, as directed by the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding Work with the Lead Nurse - Safeguarding and the Lead for Vulnerable Patients to support safeguarding quality assurance and improvement processes Participate in risk assessments of the organisation's ability to safeguard/protect children and young people About us University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.
