Job Title: Business Development Manager Scotland and Ireland
Reports to: Sales Director
Job Summary:
As Business Development Manager you will focus on driving business growth by developing new and existing customers. You will build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, understand their needs, and present tailored solutions. This involves market research, lead generation, and networking. You will collaborate with international technical and sales teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction. Responsible for tracking sales performance and addressing potential downturns, analyzing market trends, keeping abreast of our competitors, and contributing to the overall business strategy.
Package: Competitive basic salary: £40K - £45K commensurate with experience, with a target-based bonus scheme. Company car, mobile phone, and laptop provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Identifying New Business Opportunities:
o Explore new markets, clients, partnerships, product and service offerings.
o Develop strategies to successfully reach these opportunities.
o Retain and grow existing business and qualify new prospects.
o Identify different market sectors where our products and services can be introduced.
o Secure new business.
o Increase Sales Revenue, upselling and cross-selling products from the entire range.
* Client Relationship Building:
o Gauge the needs of new and existing clients and create proposals to address those needs.
o Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients.
o Offer bespoke training to suit the customer's needs.
o Pitch sales and products to both new and existing clients.
* Sales Forecasting and Team Collaboration:
o Create sales forecasts for inclusion in the October Sales Plan (Customer/Product) and actively work towards targets set to achieve the annual budget and GP Margin.
o Assist with R&D and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
o Provide Weekly Sales Reports (including Actions to fulfill Customer Requirements).
o Work closely with the Marketing team to maximize our sales reach via different mediums.
o Implement and manage a sales pipeline of prospective customers which will positively impact growth.
o Play an active role in monthly sales meetings.
o Take a lead role for the company in building and nurturing long-term, partnership-oriented relationships with both current and potential customers in your area.
o Tailor existing products to meet customer demands and suggest new products to assist with the customer's development & growth.
o Develop professional relationships with all internal departments, ensuring shared knowledge at all times in relation to the customer.
o Carefully plan, prepare for, and carry out proactive meetings with customers at the required frequency.
o Encourage customers to engage with Marantec products and services that can assist them.
o Provide detailed weekly reports on the previous week's visits with all customers in your area to your line manager.
o Carry out necessary research into identifying ‘new customer’ leads, qualifying these as prospects, and working proactively to convert them.
o Maintain high standards of own knowledge in relation to Marantec’s products, customer segments, competitor activity, and the market generally.
o Promote Marantec products, services, and personnel in a positive professional manner at all times.
o Maintain own professional and personal development to ensure continued enjoyment of the role.
o Play an active role in key project groups within the business.
o Undertake all other duties as the business requires, in line with the responsibilities of the role.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Relevant experience as an external sales executive or equivalent.
* Proven history of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
* Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office/Google/Sage/SAP and CRM software.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Willing to work away from home on occasion.
