About the Employer:
17-year-old male requires support in developing his independence. He has Fragile X syndrome, which results in learning difficulties, some communication limitations, and anxiety (similar to autism). Despite these challenges, he is generally happy and easy going. He lives at home with his mum and younger sister. He attends a special school full-time, so the hours required for support would reflect wrap-around care. We are looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to help him prepare an evening meal once a week. This would involve deciding on the meal, preparing a shopping list, going to the shops, and returning home to cook the meal. Additionally, we would appreciate occasional outings on Sundays. Since he can struggle to stay focused, part of the role would include helping him remain engaged with the planned tasks.
