Colas Australia is part of the Colas Group which includes over 65,000 staff worldwide. We are currently seeking an Area Manager to lead our Asphalt Operations in Wide Bay.
The Role
As the Area Manager, you will be responsible for our Asphalt Operations based in Wide Bay, reporting to the Regional Manager. You will have a vital role in leading teams, with a strong focus on safety, delivery, and stakeholder relationships. You will be responsible for managing a diverse client portfolio within the region, delivering surfacing works on key state government, local government, and private projects.
Key Responsibilities include :
1. Overall supervision and management of personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, equipment resources and facilities within the business unit area.
2. Leadership of company standards, ensuring processes are upheld and improvement opportunities are identified.
3. Monitor operational requirements and effectively manage resources to ensure work is delivered efficiently.
4. Communicate with clients to secure work opportunities, maintain positive relationships, and remain informed regarding local market conditions.
5. Manage budgets, works programs and resourcing to ensure efficient and profitable delivery.
6. Provide advice on tenders and work opportunities, including resourcing, productivities, supplier details and site information.
To be successful in this role you will have :
1. Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management or similar.
2. Extensive experience in the Surfacing industry is essential.
3. Previous experience in Estimating, Tendering, Contract Supervision or Project Management highly regarded.
4. Valid Driver's Licence.
5. Ability to travel as required.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
