A Band 5 Team Leader is required for the South & Mid Division based at The Glen Centre, a day centre for older adults in Aviemore. The service provides support, Monday to Friday to older adults from the local community. This vacancy provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join our positive and dynamic team. The Team leader role is a varied position, working in a person-centred way, promoting independence and re-ablement for all members, across a variety of care settings. The Team Leader will manage the day centre on a day-to-day basis, lead the day centre team including, support staff in collaboration providing support to vulnerable people. This support will include initiating, developing and reviewing plans of care and developing activity plans. The Team Leader is responsible for supervising staff to initiate and develop programmes of care and activities in a person-centred way, promoting quality of life and maximising independence.
The role will include but not be exclusive to:
1. Lead the team in offering outreach support to members in their own homes or within their communities in a variety of care settings.
2. To ensure personal care tasks are undertaken with care and respect, ensuring service users are comfortable, are provided and supported with appropriate food and fluids, and are assisted to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
3. Maintaining the dignity of service users is of paramount importance.
4. Contributing to the planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery. All work undertaken at the centre is risk assessed and underpinned by the latest Scottish Government Guidance and Infection prevention and control advice.
The successful candidate should be eligible for SSSC registration and hold or show a willingness to work towards an SVQ 4 in Social Care. They should have experience in a caring role and have relevant knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards and the requirements of the Care Inspectorate.
