WHAT TO EXPECT As part of JLR Event Vehicle Operations, you will be preparing and maintaining fleets of vehicles to the highest possible standards both dynamically & aesthetically for a broad range of business requirements. These range from a single vehicle for a motoring journalist or other VIP, through to fleets of up to 200 vehicles to support launch events or other significant marketing needs. You will have skills in panel beating and will join a highly skilled team responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to a world class standard, supporting high profile vehicles up to and including one off vehicles for new model reveals and large fleets of Dynamic launch vehicles for Global media launch events by achieving world class workmanship that meet the premium requirements of JLR brands. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Full cleaning of panels prior to the preparation process, machine and hand flat panels and plastics to include: skimming, shaping, filling, blending, re shaping and growing gaps, punctuation lines, profiling • Work to a defined work list within the job card • Contribute towards ensuring the Preparation and Paint teams adhere to the planned schedule WHAT YOU’LL NEED • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Automotive / Engineering discipline such as Accident Repair, Body and/or Paint competencies or time served recognised indentured/certificated Advanced Apprenticeship or Armed Forces equivalent (i.e. Advanced Modern Apprenticeship, Craft Apprenticeship, IMI certificated Advanced Apprenticeship) • Knowledge of cosmetic repair techniques and experience of using body filler materials, and applying filler materials to whole bodies and individual panels • Experience of working to vehicle grey book standards • Full UK driving licence (6 points maximum) – there will be a requirement to move vehicles • Knowledge & practical understanding of H & S, C.O.S.H.H. and environmental procedures A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.
