An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual with a proven track record of leadership skills and preferable knowledge of clinical products. This role requires high attention to detail with a can-do attitude.
The ideal candidate will ensure product availability and maintain stock levels within the areas of responsibility, reduce costs and risks associated with inventory replenishment of consumables, Prosthesis & Cardiac Products, ensuring an efficient supply chain route is used. Co-ordinate operational activities within the Supplies Team for service continuity, lead on management of all inventory teams where point of care inventory management occurs, and manage and develop the team for continuous improvement.
Main duties of the job
1. Lead and be accountable for the Theatres and Cardiac stock management teams.
2. Manage and co-ordinate the ordering and replenishing of stock, including stocktakes throughout the year.
3. Ensure timely ordering and receipt of replacement goods, including raising non-stock orders.
4. Authorise and approve Purchase Orders and Invoices.
5. Ensure medical consumables meet Trust recommendations.
6. Investigate discrepancies and ensure resolution.
7. Manage staff to expedite sales orders and identify potential stock outs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Liaise with clinical management teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
2. Manage product recalls and necessary paperwork.
3. Respond to Datix reports, fully investigating any issues.
4. Oversee the return of medical equipment for repair.
5. Ensure proper storage and labelling in departments.
6. Conduct risk assessments and report health and safety hazards.
Person specification
Education, Training and Qualifications
* General education to A level standard or equivalent experience.
* Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
* Studying towards or hold Supply Chain Leadership level 4.
* Full membership of CIPS.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience in developing policies and procedures.
* At least two years in a supervisory supplies role preferably within an NHS organisation.
* Conversant with inventory management systems.
Skills
* Ability to extract data from electronic systems.
* Experience in producing and submitting statistical information.
* Demonstrated skills in electronic inventory systems.
