This school is looking for a passionate and committed Graduate / Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will be supporting a small class of 7-10 students, working in partnership with the school's teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and language acquisition.
As a Special Needs support assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers, and other professionals, delivering interventions to children with speech, language, and communicational needs both in small groups and 1:1. You will make a real difference in the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
1. Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
2. Behaviour and pastoral support
3. Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
4. Build robust and effective relationships with students
5. Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
7. Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
8. Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
9. Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
10. Personal care support
11. Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD
Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN.
Start Date: September 2024
Location: Woking
Salary: £90 - £110 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-3.30pm, term time only
