Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will be part of a team for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) based project engineering activities in support of oil&gas and renewables projects performed with Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group (OPG).
Typical work scopes will include but not be limited to installation, light construction, decommissioning, diving, well or flowline remediation/intervention and inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) work scopes.
The project engineering will be provided generally from the local office with short term deployments to EMEA to support projects as required. The Senior Project Engineer will report functionally to the Project Engineering Manager and day to day to project managers as needed.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
Carries out tasks as assigned by the Project Engineering Manager or by the project organizations you are assigned to. Tasks will be focused on technical issues but can also include administrative and project management functions.
1. Work closely with Project Manager(s) to ensure all project objectives, schedule, deliverables, and milestones are met and carry out work which may include:
2. Performance management of suppliers and/or sub-contractors
3. Preparation of procedures, task plans, Lift Plans, and review of drawings and engineering deliverables.
4. Preparation of project or technical reports as required by management, clients or other stakeholders.
5. Provision of input to cost estimates, schedule development, manpower requirements and the like.
6. Support pre and post testing of equipment, as well as repair and maintenance with the help of other support functions.
7. Plan and manage mob/demob of equipment, Rigging, and Installation Aids according to project requirements.
8. Supporting the Project manager with vendor selection, create Scope of work for Subcontractors for Project required scopes as needed.
9. Travel offshore and perform day to day management of project activities
10. Close-out/As-built report at the end of the project
11. Liaising with the discipline engineering teams to engineering of subsea hardware, including development, evaluation, engineering, design, controls, procurement, and construction phases of project implementation to ensure project completion as efficiently and effectively as possible.
12. Performs direction and oversight of engineering task performed by the project team of Engineer(s)
13. Responsibility for creating and reviewing engineering procedures and specifications for compliance with design principles, applicable standards, and customer requirements.
14. Prepares design changes, specifications, schematics, and test plans for installation equipment and subsea hardware.
15. Review and/or conduct engineering calculations and analysis.
16. Review product designs, conducts, and attends Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and System Integration Tests (SIT).
17. Perform oversight of offshore operations and on-site oversight of OPG projects and subcontractors as required in a project role.
18. Sporadic Work and travel in EMEA, both onshore and offshore.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
19. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering)
20. Preferably 8 or more years' relevant experience from the subsea industry.
21. Knowledge of MathCAD, 3D CAD, 2D AutoCAD.
22. Ability to travel internationally for work scopes.
23. Valid driver’s license
24. Valid passport
25. Must be able to obtain:Seamen’s bookPetroleum Education Council (PEC) Basic TrainingBasic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
DESIRED
26. Experience in working offshore on subsea installations or IMR projects, both using ROV’s and diving.
27. Prior experience working Internationally.
28. Experience with conflict resolution and change management.
