WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATOR
Job Title: Weighbridge Operator
Responsible To: Site Supervisor
Location/Area: Hempsted Landfill, Hempsted Lane, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL2 5FR
Basic Salary + Bonus: Starting salary £12.60 per hour, with 47.5 guaranteed hours per week, plus overtime earning potential, and an annual bonus

THIS IS A FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION
Enovert is one of the UK’s leading providers of waste management services. Our primary operations include 7 operational landfill sites, 3 composting facilities and 2 waste transfer stations across which Enovert manages in excess of 2.3 million tonnes of waste per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct traffic coming onto site and take responsibility for the operation of the Company’s electronic weighbridge system, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
2. Check incoming loads, ensuring compliance with site licence and permitted waste types.
3. Ensure that all site users are adequately inducted and instructed.
4. Record and compile waste input records, site access records, and any other weighbridge related records.
5. Report any anomalies/errors to the weighbridge system to the appropriate personnel immediately.
6. Communicate with site staff regarding waste acceptance, inspection, sampling, and related controls.
7. Maintain relationships and deal with queries from customers and site visitors.
8. Ensure the maintenance, housekeeping, and security of the weighbridge building.
9. Report any non-conformances or irregularities with waste and any other concerns regarding site use.
10. Once trained, provide first aid to anyone working on or visiting the site.
11. Assist the Waste Solutions and Finance Teams in managing customer relationships and waste inputs.
12. Assist with general administrative duties and customer service, answering the telephone and directing calls as appropriate.
13. Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experienced in a similar operational role with a strong understanding of weighbridge operations.
2. Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and good time keeping.
3. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
4. Proficient in using weighbridge software and related technologies.
5. Adherence to safety and compliance protocols in weighbridge operations.
6. Computer literate, particularly with MS Office.
7. Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service, face to face and via telephone.
8. Ability to challenge constructively.
