Reporting into the Deputy Director of Finance, this newly created role will be based in our client's corporate office in Fife. The role holder will be working within a medium-sized finance team and will be based in the office on a hybrid basis.
The Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to facilitate the migration of the payroll from a third party to an in-house model. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the payroll function which has approximately 300 employees.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following:
1. Manage the payroll function to ensure that all employees are paid correctly and on time.
2. Management of the HR/Payroll information system ensuring that new starters, leavers, and wage/salary changes are actioned.
3. Work closely with department heads to ensure rota information is collated and cross-referenced against hours being processed.
4. Completion of payroll reports that will highlight business drivers such as productivity data, payroll budget versus actual.
5. Production of the payroll forecast reports which will act as a control mechanism for spend.
6. Reconcile PAYE, NI, and Pension journals within the general ledger.
7. Process statutory documentation such as P45, P60s, etc.
8. Administration of the company's pension scheme in relation to company and statutory obligations.
The Requirements:
We are seeking a highly experienced payroll professional (minimum of 5 years), ideally within either a hospitality context or a bureau environment. The role holder will be responsible for working with colleagues across the business, so strong communication skills and outstanding customer service are essential. The system that our client uses is an in-house, bespoke system; however, we would expect candidates to have exposure to various payroll systems. From a personal perspective, we are looking for forward-thinking, proactive individuals who are conscientious and able to work on their own initiative.
