Biology Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire

If so, GSL Education are seeking a highly motivated and passionate full-time Biology Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Southampton. This rewarding opportunity offers a competitive salary between £30,000 to £50,000 per year (Depending on experience), with a start date from Easter 2025 or September 2025. The school welcomes applications from ECTs and unqualified teachers with subject-specific expertise. A permanent contract will be offered upon the successful completion of a probationary period.
Responsibilities of the Biology Teacher:
1. Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching opportunities may be available).
2. Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback to students.
3. Participate in parents’ evenings, report writing, and departmental meetings.
4. Develop and implement lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
5. Support students in achieving their academic potential through differentiated learning strategies.
6. Maintain effective classroom management and ensure a positive learning environment.
Requirements of the Biology Teacher:
1. A degree in Biology or a related subject (essential for unqualified teachers).
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
3. Previous experience teaching Biology at the secondary level.
4. Strong classroom management and communication skills.
5. A passion for science education and the ability to inspire students.
6. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
7. Work in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
