Senior Building Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor – Job Description
Adkins Consultants is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Building Surveyor/ Quantity Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and deliver a variety of Building Surveying and project management duties across multiple sectors.
2. Assist in developing both new and repeat business opportunities.
3. Build and maintain strong client relationships and oversee service delivery on a project-by-project basis.
4. Apply and administer standard building contracts (e.g., JCT and NEC).
5. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
6. Conduct defect analysis, building surveys, and prepare detailed reports and specifications.
7. Provide services in sectors such as education, local authorities, healthcare, central government, and infrastructure.
8. Promote and uphold quality, health, safety, and environmental standards within projects.
9. Contribute to business growth by identifying and developing fee-earning opportunities.
10. Deliver professional services such as party wall matters, asset management, and statutory applications.
11. Party wall experience desirable.
12. Dilapidation experience.
13. Quantity Surveying experience.
Additional Duties
1. Manage larger projects, including contract administration and project management tasks.
2. Conduct due diligence and condition surveys, and measured surveys.
3. Lead small to medium-sized construction projects.
Requirements
1. BSc (Hons) Building Surveying – RICS accredited degree.
2. Proven all-round surveying experience.
3. Experience in both pre- and post-contract project management, with a strong ability to deliver client-focused services.
4. Willingness to travel as required.
5. Skills in Microsoft Word/Excel.
6. Experience with AutoCAD and BIM Level 2 is advantageous.
7. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
8. Commitment to legal, professional, and corporate compliance across all projects.
