Job summary The day area has 18 chair/bed spaces caring predominately for patients receiving Haematology and Oncology treatments and is currently open from 0800 -1800 0900 - 19.00 Monday to Friday. The Unit uses the Chemocare electronic prescribing system and has implemented an electronic diary system of booking patient appointments. We are looking for a pleasant and caring Ward Clerk to join our efficient and professional team at Eastbourne District General Hospital. You will have experience of dealing with the general public, be able to manage difficult situations. The team on the ward is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide a comprehensive multi-faceted, wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward to support the Nursing and Medical staff in the smooth day to day running of the unit. They will be responsible for assisting the nursing team in the preparation of treatment lists, dealing with incoming calls and fielding them to the relevant medical professional and other administrative tasks. They will also provide general assistance in the management and adherence of Trust Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) relating to the ward area.
