Bookkeeper Job Type: Temporary Contract (until Jan/Feb 2025) Location: Hybrid Remote or Office Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 We are seeking a Bookkeeper to support a private school in Ringwood on a temporary basis until January/February 2025. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, allowing you to work remotely or from the office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial data. Day-to-day of the role: Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts; enter data into accounting software or databases and file hard copies. Prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure. Manage vendor invoices and track bank account balances. Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Verify the accuracy of business accounts and alert the Accountant of any errors. Record inconsistencies to assist Accountants in reconciling inaccuracies. Develop monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets. Prepare employee wages and manage employee expense claims. Assist the Accountant with administrative duties and preparation of yearly accounts. Required Skills & Qualifications: Used Quickbooks before is desirable but not essential. Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role. Proficiency in accounting software and databases. Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
