Your role:As the Deputy Head of Content you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the nation's best-selling newspaper and most visited website. You will help lead a team of excellent journalists across print and digital, delivering great work in line with deadlines and live news coverage. Supporting the Head of Content, you will help drive exclusive coverage for both the newspaper and the website - including first-class video content - across seven days. Our newsroom is multi-platform so you will need to understand the needs of both the traditional print audience and its growing online audience, and deliver for both. Day to day you will: - Help lead, and manage, a team of skilled reporters to bring in agenda-setting stories which chime with Scottish Sun audience - Have an awareness and passion for all things news, showbiz and politics to help drive exclusive story ideas - Develop news lists with a focus on multi-media opportunities, such as video and podcasts - Maximise print and digital content to serve both audiences - Forward planning for events and rotas - Deputise for Head of Content on a rota basis and during periods of absence and annual leave What we are looking for from you: - Experience and knowledge of working in a fast-paced newsroom environment - Clear and effective communication skills, with a drive for success for you and your team. - Adaptability in the face of changing priorities - An ability to be a motivational leader of a large team, supporting the growth and development of individuals - An ability to work effectively and calmly in a busy news-management role with competing priorities - Clear, and structured organisations skills with the ability to look beyond the day-to-day pressures with forward planning for major stories - Flexibility to work across 7 days We are News UK : One of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland.
