Job summary The dynamic Physiotherapy department at Kings College Hospital is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join the rotation of Band 6 physiotherapists specialising in respiratory care across inpatient and community settings. The rotations are 8 monthly and are in the following areas: Critical Care (organized over 6 separate units) each with its own specialty bias including, Liver, Major Trauma and Neurosurgery Medicine and Non-Invasive Ventilation Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonary Rehab and Community Integrated Respiratory service including admission avoidance and home car Please note interviews will be held face to face. Main duties of the job Kings College Hospital is a specialist tertiary referral centre for liver disease, neurosurgery, cardio-thoracics, cystic fibrosis, haematology and major trauma. The Trust has recently opened a new 60 bedded critical care unit allowing the successful candidate a chance to work in an innovatively designed, state of the art critical care unit. The in-patient respiratory team is split into 3 teams, each with their own Clinical Leads Physiotherapists. The teams are Critical Care, Respiratory Medicine and Cystic Fibrosis. The community services also have their own Clinical Leads and there is a Consultant Respiratory Physiotherapist in Respiratory medicine. There is a strong drive to participate in research at Kings and the Respiratory team regularly submit posters and publications at national and international level. Continuing professional development is encouraged through the appraisal system and there is a well-established in-service education programme. Attendance at post registration courses is supported and there are comprehensive library and computer facilities on site.
