Site Reliability Engineer
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our growing engineering team. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure.
* Please Note: Due to the nature of client work you will be undertaking, you will need to be willing to go through a Security Clearance process as part of this role, which requires 5+ years UK address history at the point of application.
As a SRE, you will:
* Work with cutting-edge technologies such as OpenShift, Azure, DevSecOps tooling, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), focusing on automation, problem-solving, and collaboration across teams to ensure seamless system launches and reliable operations.
* Manage and optimize our infrastructure, focusing on OpenShift and Azure cloud environments to ensure high availability and system reliability.
* Develop and implement automated solutions for deployment, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring operational efficiency.
* Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot issues across the full stack, and ensure minimal downtime by driving root cause analysis and applying long-term fixes.
* Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using tools like Terraform, automating the provisioning and configuration of environments.
* Work closely with security teams to integrate DevSecOps practices into our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring compliance and security in every phase of development and deployment.
* Partner with developers, product owners, and other SREs to improve platform resilience, optimize performance, and ensure smooth system launches using comprehensive launch checklists.
* Implement, tune, and manage monitoring and alerting systems to identify potential issues before they become critical.
* Continuously assess and enhance the reliability of services through automation, tooling, and process improvements, ensuring efficient incident handling and root cause resolution.
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
* Experience with OpenShift and Azure: Solid understanding and hands-on experience managing and deploying in cloud environments, specifically OpenShift and Azure.
* Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible to manage cloud resources and deploy infrastructure.
* Understanding of DevSecOps principles and experience implementing security practices into the CI/CD pipeline.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve system and infrastructure problems.
* Proven experience working closely with development, operations, and security teams to deliver reliable and secure services.
* Familiarity with creating and utilizing launch checklists for smooth rollouts and system reliability.
* Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or other CI/CD tools.
* Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
