I am partnering with a greatpany based in Newcastle-under-Lyme who are looking for a Group Financial Controller to manage finance teams within the group and work closely with the Finance Director.
Your new role
As the Group Financial Controller you will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Group Financial Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
Your Primary Duties & Responsibilities will include :
1. Overall stewardship of the Group’s accounting and regulatorypliance, including management of VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, the external audit of the Financial Statements and leading business projects to enhance operational efficiencies and support growth.
2. Management of all accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Cash Management and Revenue Recognition
3. Coordination and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
4. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements and working with IT to design reports and processes that lead to simplification and enhanced business reporting
5. Managing finance activities that provide analysis to support business decisions relative to improving service level, efficiency and customer service via streamlining processes and cost savings projects (LEAN/Continuous Improvement)
6. Holding appropriate teams, including site and global leadership, to account for agreed actions for mitigation of risk or realisation of opportunities
7. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
8. Researching technical accounting issues forpliance
9. Supporting the month-end and year-end close process
10. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, continually review the financial processes to ensure they continue to be up-to-date with current best practice and suitable for business needs.
11. Interact and provide appropriate data to support decision-making or escalate to Senior Director.
12. Managing andplying with statutory reporting requirements and tax filings with HMRC
13. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
14. Establishing seamless internal relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
• 5+ years of overallbined accounting and finance experience
• Professionally qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, collaborate and work well under pressure
• Ability to effectivelymunicateplex financial information across the business
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Advanced Excel modelling skills, including use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
