Location: Heathrow Airport

The Project:
Ferrovial Construction has been working at Heathrow Airport for over 10 years delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects to high quality, safety and environmental standards. We have focused on design and build projects with a mix of contractual arrangements.
The Role:
Section Engineer will be responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set a high personal example of safety and environmental behavior.
2. Supervise subcontractors, assistant and site engineers.
3. Check the shift engineers setting out to ensure it is correct.
4. Ensure reasonable survey book standards and daily diaries are maintained by engineers.
5. Attend and sometimes run the coordination meetings with stakeholders and subcontractors.
6. Ensure that the 3D information drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
7. Ensure that inspection and test plans are completed and digitally recorded.
8. Prepare and monitor a 2-4 weeks programme with the subcontractor and other suppliers.
9. Monitor the work under their control to ensure that any unsafe work conditions are promptly remedied.
10. Carry out material take off and requisitions as requested.
11. Complete Method Statements / Inspection Test Plan / MAR/ Task Briefings.
12. Order materials and maintain register of all orders placed.
13. Complete Temporary Works Design Briefs and Inspect temporary works structures.
14. Maintain good working relations with client / designer / RE.
15. Confirm in writing, on the same day, any verbal instructions issued to subcontractors.
16. Ensure all delivery tickets are cost coded and passed to accounts dept. for processing.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Successful experience at a management engineering level in construction specifically in civil engineering and/or utilities.
2. Demonstrated application of growing commercial and contractual knowledge.
3. Experience of working in a cost-conscious environment.
4. Good people management experience.
5. Significant civil engineering technology knowledge.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Computer literacy advance.
8. CSCS card.
Desirable skills:
1. Airport experience.
2. Experience of working in an international organization.
3. Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent.
