EROS provides rehabilitation interventions and support to individuals with complex and enduring long term severe mental illness in the community.
The service provides a dedicated, integrated multi-disciplinary team of professionals, who aim to improve quality of life, promote hope, recovery, and individual resilience, and reduce reliance on crisis and inpatient services.

Main duties of the job
As our new Occupational Therapist, you will be welcomed into a safe and supportive staff team, who empower and encourage one another in being the best version of ourselves for the benefit of those we care for. Working to and developing professional strengths is a key part of the EROS culture. Staff have access to professional networks and there is Senior Leadership across all key disciplines to provide guidance, support and innovation across the pathways. This includes the only Consultant Occupational Therapist within the trust who works across our Rehabilitation services.
The service has been successful in both improving outcomes and the experience of care for individuals. It has supported people to return to the community, avoid admissions and has reduced the reliance on inpatient services and overall length of stay. It has been praised by professional bodies including the Royal College of Psychiatrists for its innovative approach and has been shortlisted for a number of national awards.

Job responsibilities
In your new role you will:
1. Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions for a specified service user group under the EROS team
2. Manage a caseload of service users with complex OT needs, using evidence based/client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in community settings, placements and on home visits
3. Provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal
4. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Enhanced Rehabilitation Outreach Services to provide a high-quality service to service users and their carers

Qualifications
Essential
5. Diploma / degree in OT
6. State registration with HCPC
7. Completion of Preceptorship at Band 5 level. Evidence of having met the full KSF Full Gateway for Band 5
8. Evidence of continuing professional development
9. To have an understanding of a range of mental health conditions and their impact on occupational participation and performance
Desirable
10. Membership of BAOT and/or specialist section
11. First line management training
12. Solution Focused Brief Therapy training
13. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training
14. Practice Placement qualification/APPLE accreditation
Experience

15. Experience of working with people with mental health problems/learning disability
16. Experience of working with people living with severe and enduring mental health issues.
17. Post registration experience in a relevant clinical setting
18. Experience in a range of clinical settings with experience of providing both individual and group work.
19. Knowledge and experience of using the Model of Human Occupation and MoHO assessment tools
20. Experience of generic and specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
