Police Constable - Armed Surveillance Motorcyclist (CTPSE)
CTPSE has an exciting opportunity to become an Armed Surveillance Motorcyclist on one of our surveillance teams. In this role, you will undertake both armed and unarmed covert, mobile, technical and foot surveillance in order to obtain intelligence and evidence, undertaking covert surveillance as authorised under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and Human Rights legislation. You will also debrief covert surveillance operations on a daily basis ensuring evidential logs are accurate.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region, and throughout the UK. Due to the extensive travel undertaken, officers are paid for all travel time incurred in the course of their operational deployment with no deduction.
Additionally, the post also comes with the following role-related bonuses, totalling £9,000 per annum:
* £2000 per annum Surveillance Motorcyclist role related bonus
* £2000 per annum Authorised Firearms Officer role related bonus
* £5000 per annum Armed Surveillance Motorcyclist retention payment (Reviewed yearly)
Payments are made quarterly for each qualifying period of eligibility.
To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, self-motivated and be able to work under pressure. Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
