Lecturer in Nautical Science & STEM
Fixed Term – 12 months
35 Hours per week, Riverside Campus
Salary: £40,170 - £48,357 per annum (Candidates holding TQFE will commence on £46,310 per annum)

The successful candidate will join a team involved in preparation, teaching, assessment, and internal moderation in appropriate Nautical Science subject areas. You will be involved in maintaining all relevant course and learner documentation, along with accurate records of student attendance and performance. You will objectively evaluate courses and monitor student progress. You will provide advice and support to the students, meeting the needs of a diverse learner population. You must be able to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team. This role is all about developing students’ knowledge and skill so experience in a teaching or training role is highly desirable. You must be self-motivated and reliant and have a desire to teach. You should possess effective interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate to individuals with a variety of learning needs.

To apply for this position, you must possess maritime related experience at sea. You must possess an OOW Certificate of Competency, although applications from candidates with Chief Mate’s/Master’s Coc will also be welcomed, and teaching commitments tailored appropriately. A teaching qualification at TQFE award level or a similar qualification is desirable though not essential.
