Day-to-day Financial Reporting & Operations: Manage daily financial operations and ensure timely submission of financial reports. Compliance & Policies: Oversee compliance with internal financial policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy in all financial processes. Cash & Bank Management: Safeguard cash floats, manage cash banking processes, and produce bank reconciliations. Support Finance Team: Assist and mentor junior finance staff, ensuring proper understanding of financial procedures and workflows. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Coordinate the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain smooth financial operations. Financial Statements & Forecasting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L and Balance Sheet, and provide variance analysis and commentary. Statutory Compliance: Ensure reporting is in line with IFRS standards and German regulatory requirements, meeting all statutory deadlines. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and audit packs. Financial Analysis: Analyze key financial performance indicators, identifying areas for cost control and operational improvements. Budget Assistance: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, working closely with senior management and general managers. VAT & Tax Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns and City tax returns within specified deadlines. Audit & Consultancy Support: Support internal and external audit processes and liaise with consultants and banking partners as required. Collaboration & Best Practices: Work closely with the finance teams in Germany to share best practices and ensure consistency in financial operations across locations. Language Skills: Proficiency in German (writing and speaking) is beneficial but not essential. Accountancy Background: Ideal for a part-qualified accountant with a background in financial management within hospitality or service industries. Experience: Demonstrable experience in financial management, with an understanding of hospitality accounting practices and operations. Communication Skills: Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders. Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail, with the ability to spot discrepancies and implement effective solutions. Technical Proficiency: Experience with financial systems and software, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
