An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Accounts Assistant in Blackburn. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary of £25,000. The successful candidate will be part of an expanding Transactional Finance Team, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely posting and payment of invoices. What you'll do: As a Graduate Accounts Assistant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Transactional Finance Team. You will handle a variety of responsibilities from managing allocated AP accounts to processing invoices for payment. Your ability to communicate effectively will be key as you'll be liaising with suppliers to resolve any invoicing or payment queries. You'll also have the opportunity to showcase your analytical skills through balance sheet account reconciliation and monitoring of month-end activities. This role offers a diverse range of tasks that will allow you to utilise and develop your skills within a supportive environment. Manage allocated AP accounts, including all related policy adherence and compliance Process all non-purchase order and purchase order invoices for payment Post invoices/credit notes per business requests ensuring they are coded correctly in the accounting system Perform other assigned Accounts Payable tasks under the direction of the Accounts Payable Team Leader Maintain vendor master database Reconcile balance sheet account and prepare monthly supplier statement reconciliations Monitor month end activities for accounts payable Manage supplier accounts proactively and monitor ageing Communicate and liaise with suppliers to resolve any invoicing, payment or other queries Release payment files and manual ad hoc payments as required What you bring: The ideal candidate for this Graduate Accounts Assistant role will bring proven experience from an Accounts Payable role, preferably within a Shared Services environment. Your excellent client and customer service skills coupled with your working knowledge of MS Office products will set you apart. A strong academic record in Finance is essential along with good communication skills, allowing you to present financial information effectively across all levels of management. Your good interpersonal and analytical skills will be key in this role, as well as your ability to meet demanding deadlines.
