To bring this vision to life, we are seeking a dedicated Project Support Officer. This vital role will champion the Economic Growth Team in all aspects of business planning, reporting, management of information and project delivery.
The team delivers a broad range of evidence-led economic initiatives and programmes in response to the needs and opportunities of the West Sussex economy. We are looking for a Project Support Officer to work at the heart of the team supporting with a range of projects and initiatives.
The Opportunity
Salary: £28,624 to £31,067 per annum
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week (flexible working patterns considered)
Contract type: Fixed term or Secondment until 31 March 2026
Location: County Hall, Chichester and hybrid working from home

As the Project Support Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of a range of new projects, having the opportunity to help shape the approach. The projects supported include delivering the work of the West Sussex Economic Growth Board (WSEGB), a new business-led partnership to help drive and oversee sustainable economic growth across the county. It will also include supporting the delivery of the Connect to Work programme, which aims to support the economically inactive back into work. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative team on projects that make a difference in our communities.
You will collect, coordinate and analyse any management information required, as well as plan and assist in the development and staging of a variety of events, including meetings, seminars, briefings etc. You will work within corporate project frameworks.
What are we looking for?
As the successful candidate, you will be self-motivated and well-organised, with excellent interpersonal skills, literacy and numeracy skills. You will be comfortable using your initiative to follow procedures and instructions with minimal supervision. You will have the ability to work well independently and with others.
