We are recruiting a Senior Arboricultural Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Bargoed House
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Green Spaces and Transport Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £41,511 - £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will lead on managing the Council's tree stock in order to maintain and enhance the landscape and environment of the county borough. You will manage a team and provide specialist arboricultural advice to the Council, other bodies and the public; discharge the Council's duty of care and fulfill its statutory functions as they relate to trees whilst maintaining and promoting good arboricultural practice.
The Postholder will also provide arboricultural advice in respect of planning applications and development projects including pre-application enquiries, development control advice, Local Development Plan Monitoring, Tree Preservation Orders and trees within Conservation Areas.
For the role, we ask that you have:
A relevant Level 4 Arboricultural qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
Be eligible for Technician Membership of the Arboricultural Association.
Demonstrable ability to draw up contracts for aboricultural work, appoint contractors and consultants, supervise the work of contractors and consultants.
Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake surveys, attend meetings, and respond to emergency call-outs.
