We are expanding our team and are looking for a QA Operative to join our Production team. As a QA Operative, you will be responsible for daily quality assurance checks of products and processes, ensuring the quality and compliance of incoming raw materials.
Responsibilities:
* Promote the Company's strategy and agenda in a positive and enthusiastic manner both internally and externally.
* Provide 'hands-on' day-to-day quality leadership in the factory.
* Act as the principal point of contact between the technical manager and the factory floor.
* Conduct daily quality assurance checks of products and processes including raw material intake, work in progress, and finished goods.
* Demonstrate a positive food safety culture by example.
* Be responsible for product quality and food safety.
* Ensure that specifications are in place, accessible, and understood.
* Ensure that standards of workmanship meet Company/customer expectations.
* Monitor and control all Critical Control Points (CCPs).
* Maintain and develop team-building relationships with key managers within the factory environment.
* Coordinate and provide prompt and appropriate responses to all internal technical and food safety issues.
* Maintain good knowledge of the products produced and the manufacturing processes used at the site.
* Routinely monitor hygiene and production practices to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed.
* Ensure that product complies with expected standards in relation to product safety, legality, and quality.
* Maintain adherence to product traceability procedures, including accurate completion of all related paperwork.
* Carry out internal audits such as daily start-up, glass, and hard plastic checks as required or instructed.
* Ensure that essential equipment such as temperature probes, scales, and metal detectors are functioning correctly.
* Monitor factory and product temperatures, reporting any out-of-tolerance results immediately.
* Perform any other tasks deemed reasonable and reasonably requested by management.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of products and manufacturing processes.
* Meat science/technology; strong knowledge base.
* Influencing skills.
* Computer literacy (including Microsoft Office).
* Numeracy.
* Written and spoken English.
* Quality Control and understanding of product allergens.
* Food Safety Level 2 and/or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) Level 2.
