Our fabulous Team in Erskine are on the lookout for a caring, understanding and patient individual to join them as a Support Practitioner on a full-time, permanent basis (39 hours per week).
You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.
The Role
You’ll be joining a friendly and dedicated team who provide support 19 individuals in the community either in their own homes, with family or in sheltered accommodation who enjoy various hobbies. These can include going out for lunches and shopping to watching to football and going to their favourite clubs. Some of the individuals we support attend college and have jobs. The list is endless but the most important role you will play, is supporting individuals with their independence and being an active part of their local community.
As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and support them to maintain relationships with family and friends.
The people we support have a range of different needs including Autism, learning and physical disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Some individuals have their own mobility cars and love going for a drive. It would be great if you have a full UK, manual driving licence but this isn’t mandatory to join our team!
To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:
Have an empathetic and caring nature.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence in using computers.
Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
Good organisational skills.
Shift Patterns
Our dedicated team provide support 24/7 or a 3-week rolling rota, where you will have one weekend off and 2 on. Shift are 7 - 8.5 hours long and will fall between the hours of 7am - 10pm. Every night we have 2 sleepovers, 11am – 11am and 12pm – 12pm.
The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £99.20.
During your shift you may be providing support between 3 to 8 individuals who all live close by. One of the people we support lives in Bishopton but travel is factored into your shift time.
