Our client is recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team in Fife on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical and/or Electrical background with experience in spirit processes or similar in explosive environments.
The role is positioned in the Project Engineering team providing Capital Project support to manufacturing sites. The overall purpose of this team is to deliver capital expenditure projects.
For this role, the responsibilities include:
* Development of requirement specifications in collaboration with Operations, technical & Engineering Safety Compliance teams.
* Use specialist knowledge to deliver capex projects to correct technical specification.
* Development of cost estimates and project schedules.
* Leading the technical and site implementation of projects ensuring they are successfully commissioned on time and to budget.
* Coordinating and managing external resources.
* Managing the project lifecycle including capital approval, maintaining accurate financial data, monthly reporting, including spend, forecast, commissioning, and project closure.
* Planning and leading installation and commissioning work, managing communications with customer site teams in coordination with product businesses.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Possessing a mechanical and/or electrical background with knowledge of spirit processes or similar in explosive atmospheres.
* Exhibiting proficient project management skills (end-to-end project management using a gate process approach) and engineering skills with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Managing the budget of the complete project cycle.
* Having knowledge and experience with DSEAR, Hazop's, LOPA's, PUWER, SIL, SIS systems & P&ID's.
* Being health & safety focused with knowledge of the latest CDM regulations and experience implementing them within projects.
* Having a minimum of 10 years' experience delivering projects.
* Demonstrating good communication skills (verbal & electronic), stakeholder engagement, building relationships with peers, being a self-starter and self-motivated, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment, collaborating efficiently and effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, Office, Edge & SharePoint.
* Holding a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Possessing an APM qualification - Prince 2, SCQF Level 7, PMQ or similar.
