As a Lead Delivery Manager, within the Technology & Enterprise Pillar, you will play a crucial role in strengthening our team by working closely with our Technology & Enterprise functions. This role is pivotal in driving the delivery of high-value, complex initiatives across all areas of Technology, Legal, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Finance and People Systems.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
• Lead and manage the delivery of multiple technology initiatives, ranging from £3-7m, across different domains and platforms
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with the business stakeholders, understand their requirements, and ensure that the initiatives deliver value and meet their expectations
• Define and implement the delivery strategy, approach, and plan, and ensure that initiatives follow the best practices and standards of project management
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, communication, and risks, and proactively resolve any issues or conflicts that arise
• Coordinate and collaborate with the delivery teams, third parties, and other delivery managers, and ensure that the dependencies, interdependencies, and integration points are identified and managed
• Provide regular and transparent reporting and status updates to the senior management and governance boards, and escalate any issues or risks that need their attention or intervention
• Drive the adoption of agile and lean methodologies, tools, and techniques, and foster a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement within the delivery teams and the wider technology function
• Coach, mentor, and motivate the delivery teams, and ensure that they have the skills, capabilities, and support they need to deliver successfully
A key responsibility of this role will be leading the delivery of our new Payroll Evolution project, a significant rock for Currys this year as we transition to a modern way of remunerating our 25,000 capable & committed colleagues. You will also work on key Technology projects ensuring a stable & resilient foundation for our future.
You will need:
• Ideally 5+ years experience and proven track record of delivering complex and high-value technology initiatives across different domains and common enterprise-scale technology platforms e.g. SAP, Success Factors
• Background in People & Payroll systems and experience of operating complex, legacy payroll environment
• Experience of delivery in large complex organisations, such as FTSE 250 companies or top tier professional services
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the technology landscape, trends, and best practices
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
• Knowledge of programme organisation structures and proven ability to build teams who are set up for success
• Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
• Resilient and adaptable, and able to cope with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Experience and ownership of budget and financial benefits tracking for initiatives >£3m
