JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the management and implementation of the company’s ESSOW program and procedures across our projects. This position will provide leadership, training and coordination of the on-site ESSOW program with emphasis and expertise on Electrical Safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Continuous Improvement, Maintenance and Implementation of the STS ESSOW program.
Activities include but are not limited to:
1. Implementation of the STS ESSOW, LOTO and Permitting Procedures on new projects.
2. Ensure correct ESSOW required PPE is in place for projects.
3. Internal auditing of the ESSOW procedures across the STS projects.
4. ESSOW awareness training and communication to STS staff across the projects.
5. Monitoring of electrical certification procedures across the STS projects.
6. Regular strategic communication with the STS heads of Health, Safety, Quality, Operations and Construction.
7. Promote the STS safety culture by increasing electrical safety awareness and attitude.
8. Support projects with electrical switching tasks.
9. Participate in or lead project coordination with contractors, sub-contractors, commissioning agents, clients and operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. Trade Qualified and / or Electrical Engineering qualifications.
2. Preferably hold an Authorised / Senior Authorised Person and or Authorising Engineer qualification. Where a dedicated course has not been completed by an otherwise suitable candidate STS will provide the training courses.
3. Proven experience of Electrical Authorised / Senior Authorised person roles in the construction industry.
4. Professional certifications and licenses.
5. A broad understanding of electrical systems, safety procedures, rules and regulations.
6. Excellent management and communication skills.
The role will be based out of one of our current office locations, preferably Dublin, Cork or Waterford. The role will require regular visits and time spent across the STS projects in Ireland, UK, Europe and The Middle East.
