Are you looking for a Part-Time Account position - approximately 22 hours per week? Can you work 3 full days?
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Person to join our stable accounts team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a wide range of accounting responsibilities with flexible working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
1. VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Payroll: Manage monthly payroll processing, including tax calculations, statutory deductions, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
3. Management Accounts: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports, providing insights into business performance.
4. General Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and banking tasks.
5. Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
6. Invoicing and Credit Control: Generate and send invoices, monitor outstanding accounts, and follow up with clients on overdue payments.
7. Tax Compliance: Assist with tax-related tasks, including income tax filings, corporation tax returns, and ensuring timely payments to HMRC.
8. Financial Analysis: Support the finance team by providing financial analysis and budget updates.
9. Budgeting: Assist with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
10. Month-End Close: Assist with month-end procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
11. Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience in accounting and finance, particularly with VAT, payroll, management accounts, and general bookkeeping.
2. Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is a plus).
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
4. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
5. A proactive approach to problem-solving and time management.
6. Familiarity with UK tax and accounting regulations.
7. Ability to adapt to changes in financial procedures and systems.
Part-time, with flexibility in working hours - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
