Main duties of the job This post is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in Respiratory Medicine, encompassing management of common and advanced respiratory diseases but also aspects of the specialty not readily available elsewhere. In particular, the Freeman Hospital is one of the UK's leading highly specialised centre for advanced lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, bronchiectasis and sleep medicine services, with an internationally renowned centre for Lung Transplantation. The successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to gain some clinical experience in these respiratory sub-specialties. This post may be suitable for those considering a career in respiratory medicine who want more experience before applying for a Specialist Training post or for those who have completed Specialist Training but want more experience prior to becoming a consultant. To date, all the clinical fellows employed in this post who wanted to pursue respiratory specialist training have gone on to gain a national training number in respiratory medicine.
