Your Role An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Supervisor based in Tilbury, Essex. The role will focus on implementing a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability at ADMs Tilbury Flour Mill. The colleague will be responsible for supervision, planning and scheduling for a team of 6 maintenance technicians. This is a 'hands on’ position and after training etc. it is expected that the Maintenance Supervisor will be 75/25 hands on to administrative duties. Ideally this would increase to 80/20 after a 12-month period. The maintenance supervisor will be responsible for coordinating all available resources on planned outage days and to collate and report data that is used for compiling KPI’s etc. In addition, when the engineering manager is away, the maintenance supervisor will assume responsibility for the day to day running of the maintenance department. The normal shift pattern will be Monday - Friday covering 08:00 to 16:00, however there will be a commitment to being on the site call out Rota system, covering 24 hours when on call. The successful candidate will readily accept role-specific training to aid them in developing their ADM career. Your Responsibilities • Working within the Companies Health and Safety guidelines. • Oversee the supervision, planning, and scheduling of maintenance activities for a team of six technicians. • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out cover rota for breakdowns. • To issue permits and supervise on site contractors. • Maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment within the plant so that it can work at optimum performance. • Work to achieve 'right first time’ maintenance, drive precision maintenance and best practice. • Identifying and reviewing failures, downtime and lost production. • Liaison with our ADM Reliability Technical Centre (RTC) and our asset care partners. • Investigating and undertaking electrical and mechanical breakdown repairs and fault finding within the plant. • Ensuring food safety compliance requirements are met within the plant. • Oversee inventory management and coordinate the procurement of parts for the maintenance stores. • Work closely with production team and other senior management to ensure the optimum prioritisation of activities to ensure plant operational and maintenance needs are met Your Profile • Preferably hold an HNC, NVQ Level 4, or an equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, or be a qualified time served multi skilled engineer. • Must be fully competent in working with voltages of up to 415V ac • Must be computer literate with various Microsoft packages. • Experience in implementing and managing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies. • Previous experience of leading small teams, preferred. • A good level of electrical and mechanical skills together with a level of competence in process control engineering. • A good level of root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and inter-personal skills. • Ability to work to the highest standards of safety within a team environment or working alone. • Strong team member, with demonstrable leadership and people management skills. • Proven ability for activity planning and coordination. • Self-motivated with desire for continual personal development.
