Job summary We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader - Paediatrics who share/s our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. An exciting opportunity is available for an individual to develop into a Nurse Team Leader through a comprehensive 12-month development program. This program will include the establishment of SMART objectives and regular progress meetings to ensure successful completion and promotion into a Band 6 Team Leader role. You will be accountable for all care delivered, ensuring compliance with the NMC Code of Practice and Registration requirements, and maintaining professional competencies. The role includes undertaking a leadership course to develop leadership skills and styles within the department. Key responsibilities include adhering to the Nurse Team Leader Development Programme, supporting a smooth transition to a proficient team leader, and assisting in the consolidation and application of new and existing skills. Upon completing the program, the staff member will have a clear understanding of the Nurse Team Leader role and expectations. The position also involves completing an EPALS/APLS course within 12 months and fulfilling competencies set by the education team. Main duties of the job To identify, assess, plan, implement and continuously evaluate the care of a defined group of patients, within the unit, in partnership with the child and family, ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of each child and their family, facilitating a return to optimal health. Undertake and develop knowledge and advanced skills within the clinical area, to enhance patient care and improve the patient experience and journey (i.e. administration of IV drugs, venepuncture, cannulation, CVAD, Immediate resuscitation etc.) To complete the development program and all requirements set out over the 12 months, including regular 1:1 meetings with education or line management.
