Are ready to take on a new challenge where you will receive full mentor support to develop your confidence, skills and ability? In this HLTA role, you will have greater responsibility within the classroom, and directly impact the lives of children and young people; it's the next step up from being a Teaching Assistant and could be just what you are looking for.
Ideally, you will have experience working with children and young people in schools, but individuals from a residential care setting would also be considered. We'd like to see examples of where you have demonstrated strong organisation, communication, and leadership skills.
Being focused on supporting student independence irrespective of their barrier, this is an opportunity to use your expertise to mentor less experienced staff members and work through strategies which best fit the needs of the individual students.
In addition, the HLTA role needs someone who:
Has the ability to adapt and act swiftly to challenging situations Has a high level of patience and emotional resilience. A non-judgmental attitude regardless of a person's needs or behaviours. The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations. The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct.
This could be the next step up before looking at becoming a teacher so you can use the opportunity to undertake training and personal development in line with your own goals and changing industry standards. Every person working in education is subject to an Enhanced DBS and reference check.
We are unable to offer sponsorship, so only those with existing eligibility to live and work in the UK will be considered.
