East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust
The Health Records is a hard-working team who are highly motivated and effective. As a large Trust, we have services at 6 of the sites and provide key services within the patient pathway for outpatient, inpatient, pre-assessment service, access to records, and the archiving of records. We work hard as a team to continually ensure that patient care is at the forefront of our service. We are a professional and diverse team with different experiences and challenges and recognize that both professional and pastoral care for our teams is a priority. This is a 17-hour part-time post working Monday & Friday from 0800 to 1700.
Main Duties of the Job
The Health Records Service has 134 WTE staff over 6 sites and may be likened to the engine room, essential in helping the EKHUFT move forward providing patient-focused services. The patient healthcare records are required for each contact the patient has with a health professional. They act as a means of communication between professionals and provide a diary of events serving as the organization's memory. You will be responsible for one aspect of the department function at a time, but as we are committed to ensuring all staff know each role, multiskilling within teams is essential, and you will work flexibly within the service covering the work of colleagues during peak periods of absence.
About Us
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected, and confident that we are making a difference'. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families, and carers we care for every day.
