Specifications Technologist / Technical Administrator
12 month Maternity cover - This role could suit a Food Science Graduate
Location: Malmesbury
Working Hours: Mon - Friday - Days
Salary: £28+ DOE
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and successful award-winning supplier of FMCG products in a Specifications Technologist / NPD technologist role based near Malmesbury. It is a 12 month maternity cover, but could potentially lead to a long term role.
The primary role of the Specifications Technologist / Technical NPD Technologist will be to work with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure required food safety, quality and legal standards are maintained through detailed specifications. You will facilitate the NPD / EPD process from raw material approval through to product launch. This role reports directly to the Technical Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the site technical systems are in place for obtaining and maintaining specifications.
2. Maintain the supplier database and supplier audit information.
3. Stay updated on labelling policies.
4. Liaise with raw material suppliers.
5. Review and approve packaging and artwork.
6. Ensure that the specifications are reviewed and monitored.
7. Conduct risk assessments of raw materials.
8. Carry out internal audits of site systems and procedures, ensuring follow-up of any corrective actions.
9. Request accreditation certificates and reports from suppliers.
Key Skills Required:
1. Experience of customer specification systems.
2. HACCP knowledge.
3. Previous food / drink / pharma experience.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Good computer skills.
6. Self-motivated.
7. Good communication skills.
This role is suitable for a candidate that may have previously worked as a Specifications Technologist, New Product Development, NPD Specifications, Food Technologist, Technical Administrator, Technical Assistant, or Quality Assurance.
Commuting Information: This role is commutable from Bristol, Chippenham, Tetbury, Cirencester, Castle Combe, Bath, and surrounding areas.
