As a Manager Air Operations, you will play a crucial role in our Global Flights organization, working with our internal reservations, finance and commercial departments as well as our Airline partners. Scenic Group is looking to hire a Manager Air Operations to join our team at our Manchester, United Kingdom location. Job Summary : The Manager Air Operations UK & EU is responsible for supporting our UK and EU Teams for all things air related. This role has primary responsibility for our UK and EU based flights teams, including alignment and adherence to established KPI’s and metrics within our global flights policy. This role is also responsible for maintaining contact with our airline partners within the region to ensure appropriate targets are established and met, as well as ensuring product training and familiarization for our teams. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Flights, this role acts as the in-market representative for the flights department and coordinates directly with the market leaders in reservations, finance, sales and markets commercial teams to foster collaboration and ensure their needs are met. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills as well as strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with operates in a 24/7 environment. Responsibilities: Flights Team Oversight • Ensuring adherence to Global Flights procedures & KPI’s • Supervising a team of UK & EU based flights consultants • Pro-actively analyzing booking trends and raising concerns in achieving targets. • Consistently reviewing needed enhancements based on planned cruise and tour itineraries. • Provide performance updates. • Participation in local in market meetings as well as Global leadership meetings Airline Supplier Relationships • Foster and Maintain relationships in market with airline partners. • Keen familiarization with specific airline agreements and terms • Metric and goal tracking to ensure targets are attained. • Escalate concerns and issues and work towards a proactive resolution. • Organize airline training sessions and familiarizations for internal teams. • Identify new airline opportunities or needs. • Coordinate with Global VP and peers in other markets. In Market Flights Representative: • Represent Global Flights department in the UK and EU markets. • Participation in Market Leadership Meetings • Coordination with other department leaders to ensure alignment and support. • Solicit feedback and concurrence on potential procedural changes. • Share UK & EU feedback with the Global Flights team. • Work with local commercial and finance teams to ensure compliance. • Coordinate with Air Product and Pricing areas on specific market requests. The list of responsibilities may be modified or expanded based on operational need Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience • Minimum of 2-years management experience with direct reports • Proven experience in air supplier relations within the travel industry • Solid operational and data analysis background • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders. • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail • Familiarity with finance processes and experience in managing payments and budgets • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities with varying hours • Knowledge of global airline industry practices and flight regulations • Exceptional knowledge of Sabre & Travel Industry automation • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. • Call center background helpful Key Measures of Success: • Meet or exceed departmental KPI’s. • Proactively monitor Margin of Air Agreements and making appropriate adjustments to maximize yield. • Participate in contract growth and expansion. • Identify cost saving opportunities. • Coordinate with Operational Colleagues to ensure contract adherence. • Identify spillage for tickets not booked in accordance with agreements and flag for follow-up. • Establish continuous communication with Global VP, peers in other markets and local colleagues.
